Our Youth Company on their latest residential trip

Hi everyone! We are Beyond Face Plymouth where every session, is a lesson! We have just come back from a busy residential, and we are here today to talk to you about how it went (to make you jealous).

It was a fun residential, filled with laughter and tears (of joy). We had fun, but of course there was work. Sometimes. Majority of the time, we were discussing. Alix and Bee were doing the work. Not entirely ;)
The few days were fun, and overflowed with many tears of joy. Many of us brought exciting games, which brought out the competitive side of us. Imagine how wild the rooms became when no one in our group could think of a song that contained the word “love”. Absolute carnage.

Now for the interestingly creative bit… we came up with many ideas about our cities, about how racism should be frowned upon and how discrimination isn’t okay. We spoke a lot about questions that have been asked about our ourselves, specifically our hair. Some of them were, “is it real?”, “can I touch it?”, “is it made out of horse hair?”, “does it hurt when I pull it?” and “do you have a hairbrush?” It felt refreshing listening to people that also struggle with this issue, knowing that we aren’t the only ones.

To conclude, we had an amazing time. And to finish our last night together, we had a cosy and legendary campfire, where we captured Jupiter’s beauty in the night sky (we say that because our phones caught it. And our eyes).
