Each of us has a story to tell, we are here to work alongside you to explore how you want to tell it.
Beyond Face Story-tell workshops are a chance for adults to explore and develop their skills in:
Confidence in speaking out loud publicly
Explore new ways of telling a story
Creative writing- i.e playwriting, poetry & more
Working with others to creatively explore an idea
Play, reimagining what this can be like as an adult
Develop confidence in communication
The sessions are not about becoming an actor, they are a chance to be creative and to think about your own creative ideas supported by professional artists. These workshops have been requested by previous participants on our programme and have been designed for both group and individual development.

Using Your Story as a Starting Point
sunday 27th april, 10am-1pm
Cygnet Theatre, Friars’ Gate, Exeter EX2 4AZ
In these sessions we will look at ways in which you can explore telling a story about yourself, or using your story as a starting point to explore something more fictional. We will look at examples of work and explore different techniques.
The session will be a mixture of discussion and practical tasks.
Music and storytelling
sunday 25th may, 10am-1pm
Cygnet Theatre, Friars’ Gate, Exeter EX2 4AZ
During this session we will be looking at how music can enhance a story. A chance to try some singing together, explore story through song, and learn some new musical skills!

No, these sessions aren’t about becoming an actor. Some sessions will use exercises and techniques that we might use with actors but you do not need to have experience. It certainly isn’t an audition and you won't be judged!

No, there may be moments of things that you create that you want to share with the group, but this will always be optional. Beyond Face have regular evenings called scratch nights which are chance to perform and try out ideas, you might get to a point where you want to perform, but the sessions are not about this.

The workshops are designed for you to be able to attend one or all of them. These workshops were asked for by previous participants, and they shared with us that they would like these one of workshops so that it was more flexible with their diaries.
